Questions it & technology suppliers ask

How can a technology company sell to the Canadian government?

Most technology is bought through competitive tenders posted on CanadaBuys, provincial portals such as MERX or Biddingo, and agency-specific systems. A supplier can bid directly or supply through a prime contractor. Consilium bids on technology requirements and sources hardware, software and services from partners who meet the specification.

Do I need to register on CanadaBuys to sell to government?

Registration is free and gives a supplier a procurement business number and access to federal tender notices, but registration alone does not create demand. Suppliers still need to be proposed on a bid or hold a standing offer. Working through a prime contractor is a practical route in while building a direct bidding history.

What security requirements apply to government IT contracts?

Requirements vary by department and data sensitivity, and can include data residency in Canada, protected information handling, controlled goods registration or personnel screening. Consilium reviews the security clauses in each solicitation and matches them to partners who can meet them before a bid is submitted.

Can software companies partner on SaaS contracts?

Yes. SaaS licensing, subscription renewals and cloud services are procured on defined terms and volumes. Consilium can carry a partner's product into a public tender where licensing terms, support levels and Canadian data handling meet what the solicitation requires.
